Google Ads Cost in India (2026): What You'll Actually Spend

The honest answer to "how much do Google Ads cost in India?" is: whatever you decide to spend. Google doesn't charge a setup fee or a monthly fee. You set a daily budget and pay for clicks. What you actually need to know is how much a click costs in your category, and how many clicks it takes to get a sale or a lead.
I run Hotbox, a marketing agency and content studio in Noida, and we manage Google Ads for e-commerce and lead-gen brands across Delhi NCR. Here's how the numbers really work.
The quick answer
Cost per click (CPC): roughly ₹5–₹20 for most e-commerce searches, ₹12–₹40 for B2B and software, and ₹40–₹120+ for real estate, according to 2025 India benchmarks from Owlclaw.
Sensible starting budget: ₹30,000–₹50,000 a month in ad spend for most D2C brands; ₹50,000–₹1,50,000 for real estate or other high-ticket leads.
Agency management: usually a fixed monthly fee or 10–20% of ad spend, paid on top of what you pay Google.
What decides your cost per click
Google Ads is an auction. Every time someone searches, Google picks which ads to show and in what order based on your bid and your Quality Score (how relevant your ad and landing page are). That's why two brands bidding on the same keyword can pay very different prices.
Competition in your category. "Flats in Noida Extension" has dozens of builders and brokers bidding; "handmade brass diya" has a few. More bidders, higher CPC.
Value of the customer. Categories where one customer is worth lakhs (real estate, education, finance) push bids up because advertisers can afford it.
Your Quality Score. A relevant ad that sends people to a fast, matching landing page pays less per click than a generic one. This is the lever you control.
Location and timing. Targeting all of Delhi NCR costs more than targeting one city; evenings and weekends are often pricier in retail.
Realistic monthly budgets by goal
E-commerce / D2C (Shopping + Search)
If your average click costs ₹10 and your site converts 1.5–2% of visitors, ₹30,000 buys about 3,000 clicks and roughly 45–60 orders. That's enough data to learn which products and searches make money. Below ₹20,000 a month, most campaigns never collect enough conversions for Google's automated bidding to work well.
Lead generation (services, real estate, B2B)
Here you budget backwards from cost per lead. Real estate leads in India commonly cost ₹800–₹2,000 each on search, so 50 qualified leads a month needs ₹40,000–₹1,00,000. B2B leads typically cost ₹600–₹1,800. If a sales team can't follow up on the leads quickly, increasing the budget won't help.
Local businesses
A studio, clinic or showroom targeting a 10 km radius can often start at ₹15,000–₹25,000 a month, because the audience is small and searches like "near me" convert well.
What agency management costs
Ad spend goes to Google. Management is what you pay someone to research keywords, write ads, build landing pages, set up conversion tracking and optimise weekly. In India you'll typically see:
Freelancers: ₹8,000–₹20,000 a month.
Agencies: ₹20,000–₹75,000 a month, or 10–20% of spend for larger accounts.
Hotbox: performance marketing starts at ₹30,000 a month, and we create the ad creatives in our own studio, so you're not paying a second vendor for visuals.
Be wary of quotes that are a percentage of spend with no minimum on a tiny account (no one can do proper work for 15% of ₹20,000), or anyone who won't give you admin access to your own ad account.
How to make every rupee work harder
Set up conversion tracking first. If Google can't see purchases or form fills, it can't optimise for them. This is the most common gap we find in audits.
Start with high-intent keywords. "Buy", "price", "near me" and product-specific searches before broad terms.
Add negative keywords every week. Cutting searches like "free", "jobs" or "DIY" stops wasted clicks.
Match the landing page to the ad. An ad for jewellery photography should land on a jewellery photography page, not your home page.
Use strong product images in Shopping. Clean, well-lit product photos lift click-through rates, which lowers what you pay per click.
Is Google Ads right for you, or Meta?
Google captures people already searching for what you sell; Meta (Instagram and Facebook) creates demand among people who weren't looking yet. Most D2C brands need both. I've compared them in detail in Google Ads vs Meta Ads for e-commerce brands.
