Myntra product photography – fashion catalogue shoot

On Myntra, your photos are your shop window. Shoppers scroll through hundreds of similar products, and the listing that looks clearest and most premium gets the tap. That's why brands selling on Myntra spend more time on product photography than almost anything else.

I run Hotbox Production, a studio in Noida Sector 15 that shoots fashion, footwear, jewellery and home decor catalogues for Myntra and other marketplaces. Here's what drives the cost of a Myntra shoot and how to get it right.

What drives the cost of a Myntra product shoot

  1. Type of product. A plain t-shirt is quicker to shoot than a heavily embellished lehenga or a set of jewellery that needs macro work.

  2. Number of products and angles. Most fashion listings need several images per colour. More SKUs means more studio time and editing.

  3. Flat lay, mannequin or model. On-model shoots cost more because they add model fees, hair and makeup, and styling — but they usually convert best for apparel.

  4. Studio and setup. Controlled studio lighting gives the consistency marketplaces expect.

  5. Post-production. Background clean-up, colour matching, retouching and resizing to platform specs all add time.

  6. Turnaround. Rush deliveries for a sale or launch cost more.

Typical price ranges in India

As a rough guide for fashion photography in India:

  • Basic product shots (flat lay or mannequin, minimal styling): the lowest cost per image.

  • On-model catalogue shots: more per product once you include model, makeup and styling.

  • Styled or editorial campaigns: the highest cost, with set design, multiple looks and a full team.

Short sessions for a handful of simple products can start at a few thousand rupees, while full on-model campaigns run well into five figures. The most useful thing you can do is get a quote per product with everything listed. See our current pricing or send your product list for a quote.

The shots a Myntra listing needs

  • Front view — the main image, clean and centred.

  • Back and side views — fit and silhouette.

  • Detail close-ups — fabric, print, embroidery, buttons, stones.

  • On-model full-length — how the garment fits and moves.

  • Styled look — how to wear it, which also helps upsell.

Myntra's seller guidelines set the exact image size, aspect ratio, background and number of images. They change from time to time, so check the current specs in your seller panel before the shoot and share them with your photographer.

Tips to get approved and selling

  • Keep colours accurate. Colour mismatch is one of the top reasons for returns in fashion.

  • Be consistent. Same model poses, crop and lighting across a collection make your brand store look professional.

  • Optimise for mobile. Most Myntra shoppers are on their phones; the product should fill the frame.

  • Show the details buyers worry about — fabric texture, lining, closures.

  • Refresh images for best-sellers and seasonal collections; stale photos hurt click-through.

How we shoot for Myntra

Everything is done in-house in our Noida studio, so there's no back-and-forth between vendors:

  • Fashion, footwear, jewellery and home decor — white-background catalogue and styled on-model shoots.

  • Custom set design and styling, plus model direction.

  • Controlled studio lighting and careful colour-accurate editing.

  • Fast turnarounds with files sized for the platform.

Gracit, a fashion brand we shoot for, told us their click-through rate went up after switching to our visuals. Panash Jewellery said the clarity and shine in the new images led to a clear bump in sales.
